What emissions do the infrared heaters produce?

Infrared heaters produce zero emissions.

How energy efficient are the heaters?

Approximately 90% efficient, around 9% of the energy is converted to light offering a warm red glow.

Are the heaters noisy?

Generally speaking, no. However some infrared heaters are fan assisted and as a result some noise can be detected from the fan. Most infrared heaters do not produce any detectable noise. Please refer to the product specification of each model on our website.

Are they expensive to run?

In a word, no. A 2kw model would cost approximately 18 pence per hour to run compared with a similarly sized gas heater costing approximately £1.20 per hour.

How do I install an infrared heater?

This will depend upon the model you choose. Many of the infrared heaters we sell are wall mountable, other units are portable. The power rating of the model you choose will also influence your installation. Most of the heaters can simply be plugged straight in to a UK wall socket however some of the larger models need to be wired in to their own circuit. In which case we would recommend the services of a qualified electrician. Please refer to the product specification of each model on our website. We offer spare parts and accessories for all of the heaters which we sell. Please see the optional extras tab of each product on our website.

Do I need to get my heaters serviced?

No. The average lamp life for each product is approximately 5,000 to 7,000 hours, dependent upon model chosen. This is clearly indicated on each product page.

Can I get sunburnt from an infrared heater?

No. The effects of sunburn are caused by Ultra Violet light. Our heaters use Infra Red light. No harmful rays are emitted from our heaters.

How long do they take to warm up?

Full heat is reached pretty much instantaneously so there is no need to wait for the heater to warm up.

How large an area can an infrared heater cover?

Are they weatherproof?

Many of the products within the Tansun range are weatherproof, please check the specifications prior to order as it will be clearly indicated.

How much do you charge for delivery?

Our deliveries are sent via Parcelforce using a 48 hour service. For all orders over £175, delivery is free. For orders below £175 there is a fixed £10 fee. We deliver to all areas of the UK.

I wish to spend over £175, how do I get the free delivery?

When you go through to the Checkout area of our website you will be presented with the option for free delivery if the contents of your cart is greater than £175. Simply select this option.

Do your prices include VAT?

Yes all prices on our website include VAT.

Are your products tested and with which standards do they comply?

All Tansun products are tested and approved to meet European safety standards EN 50082-1:1997 and EN 50081-1:1992, and they are fully CE approved.
