The Technology
Electric infrared heaters produce no emissions and do not heat the air. Heat from the source passes straight through the air directly to objects meaning that it is highly efficient and the heat is not blown away unlike the gas burning models.
They are also comparatively cheap to run. A 2kw heater costs approx 18p per hour to run. Significantly cheaper than the gas burners and no gas bottles to constantly replace. These running costs are also manageable via the time delay switches which allow users to turn them on for a set period of time, at the end of this period they will automatically turn off; avoiding unnecessary usage. Once turned on instant heat is provided as there is no warm up time required for the infrared units.
In comparison to their gas burning counterparts, electric infrared heaters also offer more versatile installations. These units can be wall mounted or installed under parasols and canopies as well as the more conventional pedestals. Even these pedestals are more discreet as they do not have to conceal bulky gas bottles.
